| Fri-Sun Aug 20-22 | Roll Dams & Canada Falls | | III-IV | The 'Roll Dams' (sometimes called Seboomook) section of the West Branch of the Penobscot is a favorite PPCS paddling and camping destination. Beginning just below Seboomook Lake, this section is one of the best places for intermediate paddlers to improve their paddling skills. Barely 2 miles long, it is commonly run twice in a day. Sculpted, river-wide ledges create short, dramatic drops with rescue pools below and plenty of great play spots. This trip has the addition of a MOONLIGHT RUN Friday evening. Not for first timers, we will make a run late Friday afternoon and then wait for the moon so we can howl on the river, weather permitting (rain date is 9-24-10). This will be a limited paddle. | Doug Field, Kyle Duckworth | 784-4258, 288-5763 | email |
