Sat-Sun, July 31-Aug 1Rapid RiverIV"Flowing from Pond in the River to Lake Umbagog in far western Maine, the Rapid has some great clear (rare in Maine) class III and IV white water in a remote and scenic setting. After a serene paddle across Pond in the River, there is a mile of class II warm-up before the rollicking class IV pitches, followed by lunch and crunch at Smooth Ledge, one of the best play holes around.
